major owner initiated changes to the contract that involved
additional pad mounted transformers, switches, and the
replacement of 600v, 15kv, and 35kv cable at various

Description
This project consisted of the provision of the following:
- 13710 lf of 6" PVC concrete encased duct bank
- Remove and replace 117 side walks
- Cutting and Patching of 4620' of asphalt roadway with12"
concrete subbase
- 17 Pad Mounted three phase transformers with secondary
metereing
- 10 Pad Mounted 15kv three phase SF6/Vacuum Interupter
switches
- 10 Pad mounted 3-way 15kv sectionalizing cabinets
- 47320' of 15kv EPR/URD cable
- 11000' of 600v secondary cable
- 343 15kv splices and terminations
- Numerous primary and secondary outages
- 16 street lights
- Electrical testing
- Landscaping
- Demolition

Comments
This project involved the upgrade of the existing medium
voltage system from 4160 volts to 12470 volts. Much of the
duct bank installation was in existing roads. This required
that dump trucks continually haul excavated material from
the trench location to a temporary stock pile and later disposed
of off base. All road crossings were backfilled with select
fill to prevent settling. |
