Description
This project consisted of the provision of the following:
- Two (2) 600kW GenSets
- Paralleling switchgear
- A new brick veneer building designated as Bldg. #226.
This building supplies 100% total backup support for Bldg.
#200.
- Existing fire alarm system upgrades
- Rework and retrofit existing panelboards

Comments
Building 226 is the Central energy Plant tor the main Hospital
at VAMC Hines. It is equipped with 1.2 megawatts of standby
emergency power for Ambulatory, O.R., Trauma and other Life
Support systems. Major amounts of temporary work were required
on this project in order to keep the facilities on line while
transferring all loads from the old system to the new. |
