Comments
This project involved opening miles of trenches on a base
that had a commanding officer who was very strict about the
appearance of his base. The project had the potential to be
a disastrous claims nightmare, but it was not. Our staff worked
with the government's representatives continuously for over
two years to make sure the owner suffered no more than absolutely
necessary. After miles of trenching, hundreds of unforeseen
utility obstructions, and hundreds of outages, Webb Electric
Company and the Corps of Engineers were still treating each
other professionally and with a great deal of respect. The
p project was completed with minimal cost growth, no formal
disputes, no unresolved change orders and a happy customer. |
Performance
Evaluation
Overall Performance Evaluation: Satisfactory
Quote from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers letter dated December 18, 1998:
“Your attention to the technical aspects of the project also proved to be very beneficial. The equipment, cable, etc. was installed right the first time. The changeovers were great. Also, many of the problems encountered in the field were overcome with your recommendations and assistance. You did not allow the project to stop, which enabled the project to be completed on time. Note there were 90 modifications to the project, which encompassed hundreds of differing site conditions, user changes and redesigns. These changes totaled $1,013,335.00 with 211 days of time extensions. Your pricing was considered fair and reasonable.” |
